WELCOME TO THE FIRST PLANNING POST!

Congratulations on being accepted into the game. Now let's have a big meeting post, plan and have fun together!

AU PLANNING

The AU in this game is completely player's choice. We encourage you to take a look at the city and plan accordingly! Your AU information can be added to your character hub, should you desire. As long as it is available somewhere, and others can take a quick glance and know what the character's AU is.

We only ask that you try to keep everything tasteful and respect our decision if we feel you're going too far. As the game begins, you are free to continue using this post to plan or ask the mods first-post related questions. We'll do our best to answer in a timely manner!

The city of Eddan is very much a typical metropolis, so your characters can have any job that would make sense in a busy city. They don't have to be restricted to the school, or have a school job. If you're not sure, don't be shy about asking. There's a lot of freedom!

There is also a randomized AU signup if you'd like to leave it to chance who your family members are and establish pre-game CR with new people. But if you'd rather leave it for now and wait for other app turns, that's also fine!

The first log for the 2nd round will be posted on JUNE 17TH. Please vote on what time you want it to be posted. We'll go with player majority! (As a note, this will be done for all rounds).

Hello everyone! I'm Cal, new to the game! Sorry for dropping in a bit late, but I've been having a little trouble coming up with what to do for AU Yusuke. Guess some brainstorming could always help too though!

Some ideas so far for his AU self:
- He'll definitely still be an artist and a student like his canon self, and probably be living at the dorms now too (but didn't always. Maybe for a year or two by now?)
- I'd like to give him a family. I'm thinking he was raised by his grandparents and still goes to spend a lot of time with them, and I think they'll have a bookshop or something of the sort that he'll help out with
- That's mostly it for now! I'm not sure of a name yet either. But I'll add new ideas if I get any!

I heard bookstore and Genda here as Christopher likely would have visited a lot. He's a pretty quiet kid both before and after his awakening so they could have talked books or such if you do go bookshop route for Yusuke.

INARIIII. I'm still making my way through Persona 5, but I'm on Haru's dungeon right now. So pretty far in all things considered.

THAT SAID I WOULD love for our characters to have some kind of interaction!! Previous CR AU or not. <3 I don't believe they're in the same grade, however, since this nerd here is in the lower cycle (and super into sports so no art club shenanigans for hiiim.)

Though he could also very well have been to the bookstore a few times! And Angelo (aka Takeshi) is also living at the dorms too. :>

Bookstore and dorms could both work though! I'm still trying to think of more AU ideas too, so something else could also pop up. Maybe Yusuke would've gone to watch some of the sports clubs just to watch for the experience too :|a

That could work, though!! All of those things. :D Yamamoto would have probably noticed him watching the game and stopped over to say hi then! Maybe little bits of conversations and interest in his drawings whenever he saw them. He's literally the easiest character to make friends with, 'cause he'll make an effort to be buddies with everyone if given the chance. sljdf

So we could absolutely do that and whatever else we might think of. <3

And AW that's cute that he makes an effort like that! Maybe even a combination could work, of seeing each other at games and then noticing they're both around the dorms too c:

We could do that, yeah!! :> And I imagine once they both awaken to memories, they can probably bond over being cool water/ice swordsman too. \o/

Hm . . . I'm not sure what yet, but Ran loves art and beauty as her canon self, and I don't see that changing in her AU version. I'd be up for some kind of connection between these two if you're interested! The question would just be what.

Hmmm I'm sure we can figure something out! Is she an artist herself at all, or do you think maybe she'd got to museums/galleries or anything like that?

Awesome. <3 She's not an artist herself, but she'd definitely go to museums or galleries. So she could be a casual acquaintance, or maybe even a friend and that's how they met?

Also open to family stuff, like a cousin or something, but no pressure to go that way! Just brainstorming.

I'd be happy with friend, or cousin too! I could see Yusuke talking to her if they were looking at the same piece in a gallery, or if he kept running into her whenever he went for a visit. But family would also be cute...hmm do you have a preference?

Hm . . . I'd kind of like to do cousin, I think, if you're open to it! It'd be nice to have some ready-made CR like that, and I haven't made any family connections for her yet that aren't npcs.

Maybe on her mom's side? Her mother owns a flower shop, and I could see her family being really into art and aesthetics. What do you think happened to his parents, though?

Yeah, I like that!! He'd definitely want to stop by the flower shop and help out c: They could still plan trips to museums together too!

And I wasn't 100% sure yet, but I was thinking maybe his parents just didn't have the means to look after a kid so they left him with his grandparents instead.

That sounds perfect. <3 I like that. From what I know of Yusuke (slowly watching a walkthrough of Persona 5, since I don't have a way to play), I think Ran will like him and enjoy his company. Might occasionally be thrown off by him as others seem to be in canon, but I don't think that will bother her too much. Her in-canon childhood friend is much quirkier. XD

So those would be Ran's grandparents too on her mother's side. Sounds good! Could be another reason why Ran's mom has some issues (thinking she's prone to drinking and gambling a bit). She could either have gotten more pressure from her parents, or something happened with her brother or sister that caused them to not have the means to take care of a kid and that's affected her.

And yeah, that sounds like it fits well together! Maybe Yususke's parents tried asking for help from her at first? But then that still didn't end up working out for them in the end.

I'm so sorry for the delay! I had been on vacation, then got sick when I came home, so things got piled up in my inbox and I lost the notification. I'm still interested and excited for this. <3 Good family friends will be awesome.

I think Ran's mom would have tried to help if they'd come to her for help . . . I guess it would depend on your end on what was going on with them, but maybe it was something that she just couldn't help with for one reason or another? That would probably get to her all the more.

Before I answer on the thread you had him respond to -- was he keeping his name? I wasn't sure if she would be able to react to it or not. (Hers didn't change. It's "Ran Mouri" in canon and in AU. Didn't have the heart to change it; I'm weird about names. ^^; )

No worries!! I actually got sick too, it must be the time of year...sounds like a lot of people have been getting sick lately :C

I think with Yusuke's AU parents they might've been artists too...but just didn't make enough money to support a kid from their work. I'm still thinking on the details, but I'll let you know if I change anything! c:

And I'm sorry, I should've checked with you first before I commented! I can change it first if you want, so he'll recognize her name too! And I was trying to think of a new name for a while, but nothing seemed to fit, so I'm gonna end up staying with Yusuke as his first name too!

Nah, don't worry about changing it. He could always have been unsure. Who expects their cousin to suddenly crop up on the same freaky app thing, after all? Plus a lot of people were claiming that wasn't their name that showed up. I wouldn't have blamed him for being hesitant? I'll go ahead and reply, but if you want me to adjust things in turn, let me know!
