WELCOME TO THE FIRST PLANNING POST!

Congratulations on being accepted into the game. Now let's have a big meeting post, plan and have fun together!

AU PLANNING

The AU in this game is completely player's choice. We encourage you to take a look at the city and plan accordingly! Your AU information can be added to your character hub, should you desire. As long as it is available somewhere, and others can take a quick glance and know what the character's AU is.

We only ask that you try to keep everything tasteful and respect our decision if we feel you're going too far. As the game begins, you are free to continue using this post to plan or ask the mods first-post related questions. We'll do our best to answer in a timely manner!

The city of Eddan is very much a typical metropolis, so your characters can have any job that would make sense in a busy city. They don't have to be restricted to the school, or have a school job. If you're not sure, don't be shy about asking. There's a lot of freedom!

There is also a randomized AU signup if you'd like to leave it to chance who your family members are and establish pre-game CR with new people. But if you'd rather leave it for now and wait for other app turns, that's also fine!

Mitsuru Kirijo | Persona 3 Portable

Hi everyone! It’s me, Kaysper again and bringing in Mitsuru Kirijo from Persona 3! (Portable version, Female Main Character route! Which is going to be a first for me, RPing from that route.)

My AU history/ideas are still intact from the Test Drive, and I’ve written them up over here! To summarize, Mitsuru still gets a false name, Michelle Chastain, is still a French-Japanese transfer student and on the school honor roll and fencing team… and is very much an illegitimate child and is an unnecessary complication for her family. She’s at the school to be out of sight and scandal, and to maybe prove she can be of some use.

I’m considering/have an eye out for CR that can:
+Remind Michelle of her background: people who bake or partake in baked pastries remind her of her mother who is a chef in her fake memories. Michelle will have a guarded curiosity with these characters, due to the common interest they might share and the fact her mother’s baking is a fond false memory of hers. Those with strong business ties are going to echo her father’s side of the family, and said characters with business ties might have heard about some errant daughter from a Japanese business family.
+Bring out her academic side! Cram/study sessions, familiar faces from class or the library, etc. Michelle has a strong presence in academics, and is known for getting top grades. Fellow academics draw her interest, either in the form of professional rivalry, or a shared passion in learning. If you want to say Michelle has helped a character study in the past, I’d enjoy plotting that out too!
+Know her through school clubs. She’s a passionate fencer who has been rising through the ranks, and she’s often practicing at the club’s fencing ring. People who are in the club or have seen the competitions may know her through that, and be familiar with a fierce self-competitive streak she has. I waffle back and forth on putting Michelle in music club too; depends if anyone wants to pursue that as potential CR!
+Can push her out of her comfort zone. Michelle doesn’t talk much about her family, and gets uncomfortable when the subject of families in genera is brought up. Characters can either intentionally be trying to find out why she’s so vague on her backstory (and is constantly writing correspondence to someone beyond the school) or be innocent in accidentally bringing up uncomfortable past issues. Envy for people with intact families does run in her, much as she might not want to admit it; as does sympathy for those in a similar situation.
+FELLOW S.E.E.S. PEEPS, want to cause shenanigans with different backstories/CR than what’s been established in canon? I’m very much up for that.

COME AT ME with other ideas too! I'm open to discussing and plotting, even if I'm a little late commenting here.

Birdcoin still confuses me but in a good way, I look forward to being Further Confused by his strange disarming self. :'DD

Also I see he's brothers with Gladion? Lenka & Gladion hang out a bit so we could totes get some CR through that eventually, or something. Lenka will be suitably impressed and then confused as the entire family flipflops post-Awakening(?!).

Well if Chikusa is dorming then Makoto probably is, too! He's probably got his own room but prefers the lower floors. Chikusa probably has a spare key to his room if that's allowed, in case he needs quiet time.

Makoto Gen is a higher cycle student (second year) and probably lives on or near the ground floor. He keeps his area fairly neat and is diligent about cleaning at least once every few weeks, but he also doesn't have a lot of stuff that he brought from home. If anything, there's just martial arts stuff in his closet.

Ha ha, yeah, I meant mostly that, since it looks like we'll have to change a few things from the TDM! But that just means interesting surprises for the game proper.

Gosh when did we last play together, I honestly have no clue. /flops onto ♥

Lenka here's in Senior Cycle so I'm down with having him in her class, extremely confused and frazzled as to what she actually wants from her students because he's a Dutiful Hard Worker and bad at being offensive, and just flailing a lot in class and maybe sometimes calling her out 'cause dude. Also he's really quite fond of humanity so that would be entertaining too.

P.S. How many spoilers does she come with, is there any way I can dodge the stuff past. Ep. 4 to middling Ep. 5 or is that too difficult. I mean I've seen her in-game but I have no idea what she's about at all.

Michelle dorms by herself, up on the top floor of a dormitory. The building has an elevator that seldom reaches the top floor, and all too many stairs. It's a mystery how she manages to climb them all with the heeled boots she wears.

Said dorm room is a large single room with a bathroom and bedroom off to the side. The walls have generous windows AND window bay seating, and the center is taken up by tables and chairs laid out for studying. The walls that don't have windows are also filled with book cases, and stuffed with books of various subjects. The furniture carries a Parisian style to it, and was probably hauled in by movers when Michelle first started studying here.

The room itself is tidy... except for the kitchen area, which has a slight layer of dust to it, and looks like it has never been in use.

Before Michelle awakens, she occasionally invites people to the dorm room for studying. But otherwise it's a bit of a lonely place. AFTER she awakens, it may very well turn into a head quarters of sorts, for any Persona based operations. Just don't put your feet up on the furniture while planning is in progress, or while getting patched up from a mission.

I hope you know I'm just imagining awkward pre-teen "Ciro" following his big brother around, or waiting in his apartment for him to get back from class. HE DIDN'T GET NERVOUS OR MILDLY START REGRETTING MOVING FROM HOME, NO, HE'S... FINE....

Kyoko Sakura | Puella Magi Madoka Magica

Hello, hello! I'm Bunny, and I'll be bringing in Kyoko Sakura from Puella Magi Madoka Magica. In canon, Kyoko's a magical girl who puts up a tough front and has a pretty messed up world view, but at her core she's really a good girl who's just trying to cope with having seen and dealt with far more than anyone ever should, much less a 14 year old girl. She's taken from around the end of episode 9. You know, around when she's at her lowest. Sure does suck to be her! But I'm sure she'll be fine.

AU Thoughts
- She will be keeping her canon name, Kyoko Sakura!
- Her parents moved to the city shortly after she was born. They died in an accident when she was around 10 or so.
- I'm still deciding on the details of how she ended living with her current family, but I'm leaning towards either her being a foster child or having been taken in by extended relatives.
- 14 years old and in Lower Cycle 2nd Year, but she skips class a lot.
- Still a brat, but not nearly as much as she is in canon. She's just the regular kind of bratty and antagonistic 2cool4skool now.
- Please be her friend! She acts like a dumb, edgy, showoff-y loser, but she's actually just a giant, easily embarrassed loser who gets the dokis when people actually like her.

I'm still all for what was hashed out before in the OOC planning post! But if you want to make any tweaks or adjustments, I can adapt to that, too.

They're both prepping for graduation from the looks of it; Mitsuru/Michelle is just entering the equivalent of third year in high school, and still just as diligent about studying.

I did have one extra thought, that Michelle may have an interest in Social Psychology; if not as her own major, than still something that catches her attention! And Michelle can also talk at length about what a persona is, even if she doesn't know what a Persona is. Yet.

While "Ciro" is a few years too young to be any sort of rival, he's a fellow library lurker when not attending gardening club. In the last year(ish), he's been learning how to cook and bake better- especially the latter, because it's easier to gift people pastries than a whole meal. So it's possible that she's seen him looking up books in the library besides his usual studying/schoolwork... Or definitely seen him around with his siblings who also attend the school.

(One of them, Makoto, is definitely in the game- their "little sister" wasn't able to get in this app round.)

So there's all that, if you're interested!

So reading this, I'm thinking...

...SUCH. ENVY. From Michelle's part. Granted it's an envy she does her best to conceal and try to deny. But still; this boy seems to have it all with his stable home life, fantastic grades, secure finances, etc. She's got... good grades and some respect on a purely academic level. That's about it.

It probably drives her to be extremely polite to him. Polite, in a way that her face feels like cracking after any shared classes or mutual time in the library. She doesn't hate him, at least that's what she tells herself. But she wants to be equal to or surpass him when it comes to academics and any sports clubs.

DOES HIS FAMILY MAKE BEIGNETS THOUGH. I NEED TO KNOW IF THEY MAKE BEIGNETS.

If they do, I can see her showing up at the cafe quite a bit. Probably bringing a collection of books with her to study from, and doing her best not to get powdered sugar on them.

Given that it's a casual environment, she might even be a touch friendly... if still distant. She'd compliment the food and wish "John" well in his studies though. Maybe even offer some brief conversation before digging back into her books.

RIGHT, so I admit I think it'd be cool for any CR to be a little different from what's in canon, just for the shock when the memories come back. ("Hold a moment, we're supposed to be teammates?") To that end, I could see Michelle either being VERY distant, if she's grown close to Minako in canon, or actually being a touch helpful; the sort of person who respects Minako for having high grades, and would like her to continue getting high grades.

Also, any thoughts on Minako being in the fencing club, given the athletic bent? Just another thought on where that might allow for some CR, given that they're in different years.

Given that he's potentially Shinjiro's younger sibling, I can see this causing a mass of confusion for Mitsuru once she awakens, and what lines up with her jumbled memories.

Pre-Awakening... depends on what sort of school subjects he might be interested in, or attendance records/grades/etc might be going on with him. Or. If he just cooks a really good dish, somethimg Michelle is still woefully underskilled at.

He's going to be in music club, I think, and his grades are average? Mostly he's a little bit of a discipline problem by being a target for bullies and not knowing when he shouldn't say things like 'oh it sounds like your cat is probably going to die." And... tbh considering who his older brother might be he probably knows how to cook something.

Estranged family situations ftw? Now granted, I'm not sure how much either would know about the other's family situation.

THOUGH, there may be a chance that Michelle might recognize the family name, and wonder at why their child has transferred over to here. (For her part, she goes by her mother's maiden name.) There might be an angle of curiosity to work with, there.

Shinjiro's player and I discussed it a little over plurk, but I think for Michelle, there's the weird fascination but frustration with home economics and the like. Because Michelle herself? Can't cook, and has a lot of associations tied to her mother, who IS a baker, and who Michelle never feels she can match.

Which is to say that someone who can cook and bake, or is studying how to do so in the library, will probably catch her attention!
