WELCOME TO THE FIRST PLANNING POST!

Congratulations on being accepted into the game. Now let's have a big meeting post, plan and have fun together!

AU PLANNING

The AU in this game is completely player's choice. We encourage you to take a look at the city and plan accordingly! Your AU information can be added to your character hub, should you desire. As long as it is available somewhere, and others can take a quick glance and know what the character's AU is.

We only ask that you try to keep everything tasteful and respect our decision if we feel you're going too far. As the game begins, you are free to continue using this post to plan or ask the mods first-post related questions. We'll do our best to answer in a timely manner!

The city of Eddan is very much a typical metropolis, so your characters can have any job that would make sense in a busy city. They don't have to be restricted to the school, or have a school job. If you're not sure, don't be shy about asking. There's a lot of freedom!

There is also a randomized AU signup if you'd like to leave it to chance who your family members are and establish pre-game CR with new people. But if you'd rather leave it for now and wait for other app turns, that's also fine!

Hey all! I'm Cro, I'll be bringing a weirdo with me. This is Yuuto Kidou, from Inazuma 11.
In his original canon:
he's a calculating, calm tactician who is a master soccer player and soccer batman. Kidou has a strong sense of justice and doing the right thing, which comes into conflict with having been essentially raised by the big bad of the series. A lot. He is not an okay kid.
He talks to himself in his head more than he talks to anyone, ever and basically sees himself as a useful cog in a machine. He looks at things with a laser focus and cuts out anything that isn't as important. Essentially, the goggles he's known for shape his worldview, and are ... without spoiling too much, they are very important to him and his sense of who he is.

His AU self is Michi Yamashita, who has never met anyone like Kageyama so he doesn't have the cold, calculating ruthless side drilled into him. There's only what he would have been underneath that - he's loyal, fiercely protective of those who he sees as his own, fights for those who can't fight for themselves even if he himself can't fight, is a warm and loving person. He'll be the shounen protagonist Kidou never got to be, though he's more on the gentle side of the spectrum. Like Yuuto, he'll be totally willing to take charge of things if he needs to.

He has not found his place in the world. He'll try every elective he can, learn any skill to a passable level while mastering nothing, join anywhere he's asked to (but he won't stay long) and he doesn't have many long-term friends. Due to his willingness to pitch in anywhere, Michi is fairly popular in his grade; feel free to have your character know who he is. He's got a nickname of Try-Everything Michiking that he got in the test drive that I want to keep.

He's like the wind; untethered to anything and drifting along life without much purpose or ambition. It's very easy to tell him that there's something missing from his life, though until now it was very much just teenage weirdness.

AU TL;DR of what I know
- 14 years old, second year of lower cycle.
- does not have goggles as his AU self, and this is going to cause him a lot of grief when he awakens
- if you're his age range, and are in an elective or club, he's probably met you at some point
- has a black and white cat named Penguin
- has never played soccer
- While I'm going to randomize his family/otherwise look for AU family, his last name has to be Yamashita. His canon relies on blatant puns, references, or explanations on who a character is written right into their name, and Michi Yamashita is no exception.

Gladion ("Asher") is 14 but in the third year. With regard to extracurricular stuff, I currently am looking at him having been taking martial arts classes at the dojo where Mako works, so if Michi ever did that, maybe they'd have met each other that way.

Considering that in canon, Kidou definitely did, I'd love to rule that Michi's taken some classes! Is Gladion's AU version similar to his canon self?

He's a good bit more social than his canon self and a lot less hung up on needing to get stronger, but otherwise similar. I figure he's treating martial arts as a hobby moreso than anything so he's pretty regular about showing up to practice but isn't super invested in it. Though once he remembers everything he'll probably get really invested in it between the whole persona fighting thing and remembering why he was so obsessed with being stronger.

As long as he doesn't take that out on anyone in AU, Michi would be fine with him/act fairly friendly. Though given that he can be competitive, I'd be amused if they ended up in some soft of lowkey one-upmanship contest with each other over something here.

I am all for this. I'm betting that's what's kept Michi in martial arts to begin with this long, too. If he leaves, Gideon wins.

Right now, all I'm imagining right now is-

Michi: HEY I'm here to join the gardening club!
Ciro: I.... okay. But are you sure... You seem too energetic for this kind of club.
Michi: It'll be fine!

A WEEK LATER

Michi: /joined a different club
Ciro: ????

and thus he is forever known as this completely random whirlwind that he had to deal with for a week and still isn't sure what happened there

BASICALLY. Basically exactly that. Somewhat less raw enthusiasm on the surface, maybe... but it'd go exactly like that.

Michi "why are you even here" Yamashita at your disservice. But hey, the important thing was they had fun, yeah? (You had fun, Michi. Less clear if others did.) There's no point in not trying things.

The best part of this would be the apparent reversal of personality once Michi awakens - that person is still there, but it's buried under so much baggage/weirdness that it's hard to tell. Which would only add even more question marks to the 'what just happened' aspect.

I'm canonblind and also AU problems, lmao, so I'm delighted I got close enough.

If I make a CR chart for this, even if they don't get any particularly indepth threads, I have a feeling Michi's is just going to be nothing but question marks. Keep the mystery alive or.... something

Ahaha yes. Yes. Canonblind makes this weirder, but the tldr gist is that he was diverted into being a cold person from a warm, open one. In canon he wouldn't act like his AU version, for canon reasons. (I honestly couldn't think of how to keep Kidou's specific personality if he doesn't have his history. He's been warped.) I don't see him being the hyper sort though.

BUT YES.

The mystery is only going to double. The person he was trying to figure out is now replaced by a completely different person. ???? what is going on.

Not even Kidou could (or would try to) answer.
