MARIOKART MEME
-10.jpg)
We've been in this game a few months, its time to decide the real important things about our muses.
While most of you have probably played or seen it, a quick recap: Mariokart is a classic racing game on so many freaking consoles by now I'm not going to bother to list them. It features a roster full of Nintendos most beloved characters and (usually) has tight controls and interesting levels.
It is also one of the most cutthroat playing experiences I've ever personally experienced and the dynamics of people who player Mariokart are always interesting, so why not tell us how your muse plays? Who do they main? What races are their favorites? Items? How angry do they get?
For a quick update, the current characters as of Mariokart are here.

Guts is a hardcore Yoshi fan. He picks Yoshi every chance he gets, and then plays like an utter maniac for the rest of the game. Probably the guy who ragequits halfway through any play session, even if he's winning.

Jaune probably doesn't stick with a main. I imagine he shuffles between picking Daisy, Luigi, or Toad, he's never fast enough to pick Mario or Yoshi when playing with others...but now it's just habit that he goes for one of those three. Likes to play most race courses--hates ones where it is easy to fall off the track or into lava pits.
Has never come in first, he's good but somehow his luck is so bad that any time he HAS been in first somehow he gets blue shell'd before the end. If not blue shell incidents then it's dropping in the lava pit or off the road in the last lap or so.
His personal favorite weapon to use is the red shells because he likes to surround himself with them and then run into people. He also likes bananas, though it's 50/50 as to whether or not he ends up wiping himself out first.
He yells a lot as the game goes on--but is never the first to quit.

His go-to character is Donkey Kong!! Followed by any of the non-human characters because he's predictable like that. He also really likes the less straightforward/more gimmicky tracks like rainbow road or uhhh haunted tracks with ghosts in them!! Because the challenge adds to the fun. Tends to keep shells and bananas and things for defense rather than using them, but otherwise doesn't think too hard about item use. Get a shroom, use it immediately, etc. More likely to dodge opponents than run them over or anything, he's pretty peaceful.

Unsurprisingly, Fubuki would main the brothers Mario and Luigi, though whom he'd favor would depend upon which of his own personalities was dominant at the time. For example, Shirou would prefer Luigi, while Atsuya would prefer Mario. And then there's Kouyuki who would probably pick Wario, Waluigi, or Bowser...
Shirou is generally happy just to be playing and doesn't mind what place he comes in (as long as it's not dead last) but this is also because he probably spends more time hitting boxes and trying to trip up his opponents than anything else. Generally, he's just happy if everyone else is having fun. It's important to remember, however, that while he laughs off attacks, he also silently swears revenge with a smile.
Atsuya is aggressive with a capital A and will try to outrace anyone and everyone. Coming in second isn't acceptable...which means there's definitely some spinouts and moments where he gets stuck in corners, etc. If he doesn't rage quit playing altogether, he'll adamantly demand to replay a level in an attempt to bump up his score and come in first. Bring earplugs. He shouts a lot. And won't let you live down losing. He's also the only one who favors any levels, with a strong preference towards water and ice fields.
Lastly, Kouyuki is fairly determined to win, but equally determined to hit as many boxes as possible in attempt to knock out other players or slow them down. He favors turtle shells and banana peels, but sometimes in his eagerness to set up a trap he falls into one another player has set up, or even one of his own. He never quits, though...not unless he completely fails out of a race and comes in last, at which point he'll be the first to suggest playing something more active.

Emily, however, has played! She's not super deep into video games but has at the very least played all of the popular group 'party' sort of games thanks to how often she babysits, which includes Mario Kart. The kids have given her plenty of tips over time, so she's actually got a pretty good handle on things whenever she's not going easy on the younger ones.
Generally she prefers to play Rosalina, although she's flexible enough that she'll give up the character if someone else really wants to play her. She's a good sport about winning or losing, but that doesn't always reflect in her playstyle - she makes use of every item she can and isn't above physically jostling people outside the game to secure a victory. Her favorite items are the shells that track from behind, but she's not picky.
Basically, don't play with her. You're going to end up feeling like a loser even if you win.

In Eddan, she's probably played with some of her younger siblings and...well, she just lets them take over and pick whatever they want and she takes the leftovers. Usually she loses, but it keeps them happy while she's watching them. When she does win, she does get excited, but you can count on at least one little brat complaining that "sissy cheated!"
